Memorable Moments:
Lennon (not the communist or musician) owned a harness race track with a grandstand which he rented out the Lowell baseball club. One problem with this was fans who had seasons passes to the race track could also get into the ball game without paying the gate. So, when Lennon tried to raise the rent, the team rented another plot of land on the fairgrounds and built a park. The players actually built the park. Team owners did not want to play here since public transportation to the park was limited and it was kind of far from downtown.
