New York (Manhattan), NY
Team: New York Black Yankees | Capacity: 21,400 |
AKA: John J. Downing Stadium |
This was a "U" shaped stadium open on the southwest end. When Ebbets Field was torn down, the light towers were moved here.
Unfortunately, by the time I went to photograph this site, they had already demolished the stadium and were working on building the new $38 million Icahn Stadium, a place for track and field. This bothers me, because they didn't demolish it that long ago, and I missed it.
