This parks outfield was strange. The ground fell off very sharply behind the left field fence, so it was built at an angle so wooden supports could, well support it. The slope was anywhere from 35 to 60 degrees. This would cause left fielders to literally run up the side of the fence. Any balls that rolled up and over the fence were ground rule doubles.
