Team: Detroit Wolverines | Major League Opening Day: May 2, 1881 |
Major League Closing Day: September 22, 1888 |
Memorable Moments:
This park had a small roofed grandstand behind home plate that extended past third into left, but only halfway to first. Along the remainder of the right field foul line were bleachers. At no point were there anymore than thirteen rows of seats. As was the custom of the day, the overflow crowds stood in the outfield behind the fielders. The press box was on top of the grandstand, about twenty feet off the ground. This field was so big that a cricket game and baseball game could be played simultaneously and not interfere with each other.
