Wheeling, WV

On September 22, 1890, the Pittsburgh Alleghenies, now the Pirates, played the New York Giants here. The game was held here because Giant's Captain, Jack Glasscock, is native to Wheeling. The grass was so long, that Mike Tiernan's hit to the outfield was lost and he got an inside the park home run. 1,500 people showed up to watch this game.
