Four Mile Run Park | |||||||

Alexandria, VA
Team: Dukes | AKA: Frank E. Mann Field |
Memorable Moment:
Baseball always struggled here. Since this park is next to the Cora Kelly School, Alexandria city ordinance prohibits the sale of alcohol. In 1978, when the Alexandria Dukes started playing here, they had no major league affiliation. In 1979, the Mariners signed a one year deal with them. In 1982, the were a "co-op" team and had many teams feed them players. From 1983 until the team moved to Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge, VA, they were a Pirates minor league team. This park has serves as the home field to the Alexandria Aces of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, a summer wooden bat league, since 2008.
